Lucy Goes… On A Break

Hi everyone, it’s me, Lucy.

If you follow me on Twitter, you may already know this – so sorry if I’m repeating myself! This post is mainly for the rest of you lovely lot who don’t, or who didn’t see my announcement when I tweeted last week.

I just wanted to let you know that after writing about 2500 words a week every single week for over 2 years (127 posts in total!), I’ve decided to take a break from the blog.

I will still post – I’ve still got lots of good dating stories and a fair few Lucy Overthinks to share! – but it won’t be for a while and it won’t be every week. And I’ll still be on Twitter @lucygoesdating if you’re interested in finding out what I’m up to.

I’m so sorry if you’ve come to rely on your Saturday read and will now have to find something else to do! Honestly your support really has meant the world and there’s no way I would have carried on as long as I have without it.

In the meantime, here are a few things you can do…

1/ GUEST POSTS!

If you’ve got a great story to share, or want to confess your dating sins, or have an opinion about something related to dating, now’s your chance to have it reach a wider audience! Please contact me with your suggestion of what you’d like to write about!

You can check out the sort of things other people have been guest posting here.

2/ SUBSCRIBE

If you don’t want to miss any new posts when I DO write one, please head over to this link and type in your email address to get notifications when a new post goes live. I may also possibly send you the occasional other bit of interesting info if I have something to share – but you can unsubscribe at any time.

3/ READ SOME OLD POSTS – AND TELL YOUR FRIENDS

You can search the blog by the name of each date in the menu above, or go back through the archives by month – there’s a drop down in the sidebar (at the bottom if you’re on your phone). With 127 posts, there’s bound to be something to entertain you!

And then please share the love with someone who hasn’t read anything yet!

4/ BUY A T-SHIRT

I don’t know why this would help you, but hey, I’m not going to miss an opportunity to plug the excellent LGD merch! You can buy a giraffe t-shirt like the one I’m wearing in my avi, or a ‘slutty and clever’ one (I know many of you lovely lot fit that description perfectly! 😉) They come in a huge range of colours and styles for both men and women and are almost infinitely customisable.  Save 15% of all purchases until 29th July with code JULYSAVING.

Here’s the link

5/ DONATE TO MY JUSTGIVING PAGE

I set this up as a way of doing something good for my 40th birthday but it’s still active. If you’ve enjoyed my writing and would like to show your appreciation, that’d be AMAZING. All the money goes to the homelessness charity Shelter.

Click here to donate – or just to check out all the other wonderful people who already have!

Thank you all so much for being wonderful readers, supporters and friends. As Arnie said, I’ll be back!

Love, Lucy

    Hey Lucy!
Sorry to hear you’ll take a break from the blog, as I did enjoy reading your adventures a lot! But I do understand, you need to do what is good for you and surely taking some “me time” would do you wonders.
I hope you’ll recharge your batteries and get back with positive stories! I wish you all the best, you deserve it!

Thanks Lisa! I’m so pleased you’ve been enjoying the blog! Don’t worry, I will be back – and in the meantime I’ll have some lovely guest posts for you, so don’t worry!
